History

The Palace of the Counts of Anadia
The Palace of the Counts of Anadia, one of Portugal's most notable Houses, is a magnificent 18th-century construction. Maintaining its original size, fully walled, its history speaks to us of extraordinary men and women, ambitious developments, and paths of innovation. This story is present in the Palace, in the Gardens, in the Estate, and in its Eighteenth-Century Woods.

The House of Paes do Amaral dates back to the late 16th century, when Gaspar Paes do Amaral, Captain-Major of Mangualde, established the Chapel as an endowment.

Conde da Anadia

Wines
The wine production on the property dates back to the 18th century. Within the palace walls, we find the 10 hectares of vineyards, planted at an altitude of 500 meters on granitic soils. Belonging to the demarcated region of Dão (sub-region of Terras de Azurara), the palace vineyards feature typical grape varieties of the Dão region: Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Encruzado.

Conde da Anadia Colheita - Red

This wine is a blend of typical Dão grape varieties aged in bottle for 24 months. Its profile is elegant and smooth, with good freshness and structure, giving it elegance and gastronomic appeal.

Conde da Anadia Colheita - White

This white wine made from red grapes (100% Touriga Nacional) presents a citrine color with coppery nuances. Its aroma is lively and rich in mineral notes. On the palate, it is a challenging and engaging wine.

Conde da Anadia Reserve - Red

Resulting from the selection of the best Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Jaen grapes, and from extended aging in barrel and bottle, it presents itself as elegant, intense, and structured, reflecting the essence of Dão.

Conde da Anadia Reserve - White

With a complex and elegant profile, this wine is the result of selecting the best grapes of Encruzado, Malvasia Fina, Cerceal, and Uva Cão, and aging them for 12 months in French oak barrels.
